These Alphabitty Moments layouts are so much fun! MamaBear at 4 the Love of Family kicked off the fun to keep record of the little things our children do. She, along with the other weekly participants, have some amazing ideas and cute memories … you really should check it out!
Yes, I’m still totally out of order, but I’m trying to catch up, so I’m doing letters as I think of their theme. I had a little trouble thinking of something for the letter M, but when I finally thought of this word, I knew I had found it. M is for milestones! Specifically, rolling over, her first bath in the big girl tub, sitting up and crawling. So many things to keep track of, and this makes it super easy to remember dates! Here’s the letter M!

Catching up, and that means things might be a bit out of order – sorry! Here’s the letter J – for jeans! Because I took several of these so close, you can’t really see just how adorable the jeans are, but they’re there! I love Lily in jeans, and they’re easy because they match essentially everything! Here’s the letter J!

Seems I’m doing a lot of these posts these days, but there’s so much going on that it’s dizzying!
I’m really missing my Peanut these days. Seems by the time we get home and get everything done, there’s just not enough time with her. We played for well over an hour last night (In between dinner, dishes, laundry, bath …), and call me selfish if you’d like, but it’s just doesn’t feel like enough time. The weekends aren’t long enough, either. I’m trying to commit myself to being home one full day each weekend for just this reason – more time. True, this will require some serious organization and coordination, but I’m game. I need time with our Lil before she’s grown – a time I know will come far too quickly.
Excitement is building – my dad, sister and I are headed to Grand Cayman in March for a dive trip, and the plans are starting to come together. This weekend, I’ll likely spend a few hours at the dive shop doing some refreshers for three certifications I hope to complete while we’re there – rescue, wreck and UW photography. I’m psyched!
It’s time to play catch up. You know from prior posts that I’ve been working on the Alphabitty Moments project – my posts are here and more information can be found here. It’s an awesome project, and one I really want to complete. That being said, as this week is “T,” I have a LOT of catching up to do! I’ll keep you posted on my progress, of course, by posting pages here as I complete them. (Oh my, I just checked out MamaBear’s blog, and they’re only up to the letter “L” … yippee! That means only 5 layouts to catch up!)
We’re going to start sleep training again because things have gotten out of hand. Lily is 8 months old and I’m being honest when I say she was up every 2 hours last night – asleep around 9, then up around 11 pm, 1 am, 3 am and 5 am. No joke. We did training a couple of months ago, but she got sick and I didn’t the heart nor the strength to do it while she was sneezing and coughing through the night. With the sickness over, it’s time to kick things off again. This mama’s tired, and so is Peanut’s papa!
I guess that’s it for now. I’m still waiting on the medical news, so I promise to keep you posted on that. I also hope to get some recent pictures up today, but we’ll see. Maybe by the end of the weekend is a better goal. Have a great day!

I really struggled with something for the letter G. Because Peanut is only 5 months old, there’s often little she’s learned or done thus far. Watching her last night, it came to me, and it’s just perfect! So … this week, the letter G is for grip! That little girl has been grabbing, gripping and holding on to everything lately! I love watching her hands work as she learns to pick up, hold and pass things. This is such an awesome time – one that I don’t want to forget!

So, without further ado, F is for … the fair! We ventured out to two local fairs this year – one was a local fireman’s carnival, and the other was our county fair. We had fun at both, and I’m sure the coming years will be much, much more exciting!

So, what’s the theme for this week (Eh, I’m a few weeks late …)? E is for expressions! That girl makes some funny faces, and they’re getting funnier as every day passes! Some of our favorites made this page, though we have so many more!

I couldn’t decide on what to do for the letter D until I asked a few friends … and they knew just what I should go with – doggie!
When we first brought Lily home, and for probably the first month and a half, where Lily was, Cody was. Seemed he was never more than a few feet away. And if she cried, he wouldn’t rest until one of us got her. As soon as she’d start, he’d come to let us know. We thought he’d be a huge problem because he’s typically very jealous, but overall, he’s taken the addition very, very well. We really couldn’t have asked for anything better! G-pa’s theory is that he knew she was on her way long before she actually arrived. I’ll take that theory!
Notice in each of the pictures of Lily that Cody can be found either discovering his new friend or in the background – it’s like Where’s Waldo!
So, without further ado, I bring you the letter D, which is for doggie!

A note on the background – I used this tutorial to create the background for this layout – it was easy to follow and fun to create! If you enjoy this sort of design work and want to create something similar, I’d highly recommend this tutorial!

So … as soon as I started brainstorming on what I would do for the letter C, I knew immediately – catfish face! Though she doesn’t do it anymore, when Lily was really little, she’d make this face that we swear looks just like a catfish! (The best are the two images from June 14th.). Seriously, you can’t say they don’t have a striking resemblance to the catfish illustration!!!
I don’t ever want to forget her catfish faces (Nor the fact that we called her “Catfish Lou” for quite some time …), so I dedicate the letter C to forever remembering catfish face!

I am LOVING this! Here’s the letter for this week … B! I’m not 100% psyched with the layout, but it’ll do for now. I would also like to add some different photos, but at this point, they’re all I’ve got in high res (Thanks, Aunt A!), so they’ll have to do.
Now, I present to you the letter B – “birth” day!

I stumbled across a blog, “4 the Love of Family,” many weeks ago; it just so happened that the day I found the blog was a Thursday, and the author was hosting Alphabitty Moments (P.S. – I’ve been following ever since!)! Immediately, I knew Alphabitty Moments was for me the second time around – and yippee, today is kickoff day! If you want more information on the specifics, you just have to go here … it’s awesome!
So here goes for week one! A is for … attitude!
This girl’s beginning to give us glimpses of her personality, and it’s hilarious! When she wants to eat, she wants to eat NOW. When she’s mad, she’ll let you know. And some of the faces she makes are hilarious! I know – this is only the beginning!!!

These will eventually be turned into a book; what you see here are two facing pages.
I’m so psyched about this project and excited to get creative over the next 27 weeks (Yes, I know there are 26 letters in the alphabet, but every book needs a cover, right!?).
If you’re also participating, let me know and I’ll look for your posts over at “4 the Love of Family!”
